How to get here
Mackinac Island is located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula on Lake Huron. Ferry Service to the Island is available from Mackinaw City, Michigan (south of the Mackinac Bridge) or St. Ignace, Michigan (north of the Mackinac Bridge). Parking is available at the ferry docks, either Short Term (day parking), or Long Term (overnight or longer). We will send you Ferry tickets for the Arnold Line, but if you forget them, ferry tickets may be purchased upon arrival at the docks.
Traveling North (Lower Peninsula to Mackinaw City): Take US 31, US 23 or I-75 North to I-75. Take I-75 North to Mackinaw City Exits (337, 338, or 339). Follow signs to Mackinac Island Ferry Docks (Arnold, Shepler's, Star Line).
Traveling South (Upper Peninsula to St. Ignace): Take US 2 East or US 23 and I-75 South to St. Ignace. Take State Street Exit and follow signs to Mackinac Island Ferry Docks (Arnold, Shepler's, Star Line).
Ferry Information: From May to October all three ferry services run regular schedules from St. Ignace and Mackinaw City. The ride to the island is approximately 20-25 minutes. Free daily parking is available. Secured overnight parking is also available.
Please note: From November through April ferry service is limited to Arnold Transit, which continues to run from St. Ignace until January 2nd. Arnold is the first to resume service, usually between mid-March and early April. Star Line and Shepler's follow in late April, early May.
Winter: The Arnold Line ferry only runs from St. Ignace during the beginning of the winter season. They run a daily schedule, with the exception of Sunday, to the island until the Straits freeze over. Flights to the island from the Mackinac County Airport in St. Ignace are available through Great Lakes Air for $21 per person each way.
Northwest Airlines offers commercial flights from either Chicago or Detroit to Pellston. From Pellston you can get to St. Ignace by ground transport via Mackinaw Taxi or Wolverine Stages. Fares are in the $20 to $24 one-way or around $40 round trip range. They both have booths at the Pellston airport but calling ahead is recommended. You can also charter a flight through Great lakes Air from Pellston for $25 per person one way with a 2-person minimum before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m.

Take Huron Street towards Mission Point Resort and the condos are the last building (Salmon colored building) on your right before you get to Mission Point Resort: |
